[Overseas Learning Partnership] Study Tour to UK
To broaden the horizons of students, improve their English proficiency and develop their independence, Overseas Learning Partnership Committee and English Department will co-organize a 16-day summer study tour to Oxford University, England from 30 June 2012 to 15 July 2012. A seminar will be held on Friday, 2 March 2012 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in our school hall. If you are interested, do come to the seminar to get more information about the tour. In case you are interested but cannot come, please contact Mr. R. Wong for other arrangements.

[Music Department] Singing Contest
The event was organized by the Music Club on 19th January, 2012. Individual contestants and teams showed their hard work in singing. Audience screamed and clapped their hands as the performances were so impressive and fascinating. S7 students took the opportunity to express their gratitude to teachers and present handpicked gifts to them.
At the end of the contest, two judges also demonstrated their skills in singing, commented on the performance and gave out the prizes for the winners.

[Chinese Department, English Department, Putonghua Department] Speech Contests
Students competed in the Cantonese, Putonghua and English inter-class speech contests. These contests offered students an opportunity to develop skills in clear thinking and public speaking. It was fun and students learned a lot about presenting.

[Moral and Civic Education Section, Extra-curricular Activities Section] Enviornmental Education Group and Science Society_ Know more about butterflies in Hong Kong
On 13 January, two students from F.4 shared their slides with photos of over 250 species of butterflies in Hong Kong with their fellow schoolmates. They also gave a presentation on how to protect butterflies and the points to note when we visit the breeding sites of butterflies.

[Computer Department] The Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics 2012
Four students joined the Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics (HKOI) 2012. Cheng Yat Him (F6D) entered the final event of the HKOI and received a silver medal in the senior group. The HKOI 2012 prize-giving ceremony was held in the Chinese University of Hong Kong on 6th January 2012.
The Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics is an annual software competition for secondary students in Hong Kong, emphasizing problem solving techniques and programming skills.
Cheng Yat Him was invited to join the HKOI Training Team for intensive training and he will also be eligible to participate in the Team Formation Tests in which delegates are selected to represent Hong Kong in international/national/regional competitions. Congratulations to Cheng Yat Him and our HKOI team members.

[Religious Education Section, Music Department] Christmas Service & Celebration
The events were held on 21st December, 2011. After the Christmas Service, there were performances by students as well as teachers. As a tradition of the school, graduating classes took the opportunity to thank teachers for their hard work and dedication.

[Others] School Flag Flying at South Pole
In December 1911, Norwegian Roald Amundsen and his party reached the geographical South Pole on the continent of Antarctica. They were the first humans to reach the Geographic South Pole. One hundred years later, a CSK old boy, our scout leader Mr. Peter Lui and his teammates successfully reached the geographical South Pole on December 11. He flew our school flag and the scout flag of 205th Group at the South Pole. Congratulations to Mr. Peter Lui and we wish him the best in his future endeavours.
