In light of the emergence of new forms of cybercrime and the growing importance of cybersecurity in Hong Kong, the School’s MCNE Committee, in collaboration with the Discipline Committee, organised an educational talk on cybercrime and cybersecurity for S4 students on 21 January.
The school invited a representative from the Hong Kong Police Force to introduce recent trends in cybercrime and to explain practical measures that students can take to protect themselves from such threats. The speaker highlighted the increasing sophistication of cybercriminal activities and emphasised the need for heightened awareness and vigilance in daily online behaviour.
Furthermore, the representative stressed that, in today’s complex and ever-changing global environment, safeguarding cybersecurity is of paramount importance. He also underscored that upholding national security is a shared responsibility, which requires the collective effort and cooperation of every member of society.
