[Computer Department] The Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics 2012
Four students joined the Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics (HKOI) 2012. Cheng Yat Him (F6D) entered the final event of the HKOI and received a silver medal in the senior group. The HKOI 2012 prize-giving ceremony was held in the Chinese University of Hong Kong on 6th January 2012.
The Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics is an annual software competition for secondary students in Hong Kong, emphasizing problem solving techniques and programming skills.
Cheng Yat Him was invited to join the HKOI Training Team for intensive training and he will also be eligible to participate in the Team Formation Tests in which delegates are selected to represent Hong Kong in international/national/regional competitions.
Congratulations to Cheng Yat Him and our HKOI team members.

[Others] School Flag Flying at South Pole
In December 1911, Norwegian Roald Amundsen and his party reached the geographical South Pole on the continent of Antarctica. They were the first humans to reach the Geographic South Pole. One hundred years later, a CSK old boy, our scout leader Mr. Peter Lui and his teammates successfully reached the geographical South Pole on December 11. He flew our school flag and the scout flag of 205th Group at the South Pole. Congratulations to Mr. Peter Lui and we wish him the best in his future endeavours.

[Geography Department] Visit to Caritas Chan Chin Ha Field Studies Centre
Some Form 4 students who study Geography visited Caritas Chan Chun Ha Field Studies Centre on 12th December, 2011 (Saturday). They explored different modes of the Geography SBA. The students are encouraged to fully channel the fieldwork experience into informative assessment.
They investigated Cheung Chau by using the skills they learnt and shared their findings with other secondary schools.

[Moral and Civic Education Section] Civic Education Talk
A Civic education talk entitled 'The abusive cultural ' was held for senior form students on 5th December 2011 in the school hall. The guest speaker was Mr. Chan Wing Ho, from The Society For Truth And Light. His speech inspired our students to think about the importance of respecting others and the bad impact of raving in public.

[Extra-curricular Activities Section] The World AIDS Day
To promote care and support for people living with HIV / AIDS, our Red Cross Youth Unit organized the Red Ribbon Day on 1st December, 2011. Activities including a display board exhibition, putting on red ribbons and writing caring cards were held. We hope our schoolmates can accept and show care for people living with HIV / AIDS.
