[Careers Guidance Committee] F.4 Day Camp
With a view to boosting students' self-efficacy and helping students set individual career goals, Careers Guidance Committee organized a day camp for F.4 students in collaboration with Hok Yau Club on 20th September, 2014. After a one-hour session held in the School Hall, students travelled to Lady MacLehose Holiday Village in which they had more activities including games, group discussions and sharing sessions. Through various activities, they have been equipped with teamwork skills, problem-solving skills as well as skills needed for self-reflection and setting their own career goals.

[Extra-curricular Activities Section] The 17th Student Association
This year, two student association cabinets, Phoenix and Paragon, ran in the election of the 17th Student Association. The election campaign was held from 4th September to 17th September. The cabinets presented their policies respectively in the morning assembly. The forum for junior forms was held on the 15th September while that for senior forms was cancelled due to inclement weather conditions. The two cabinets answered questions raised by the opponent and students. The election took place on 18th September. The total number of votes was 848, with 685 valid votes and 163 invalid votes. The number of votes given to Phoenix was 445. The number of votes given to Paragon was 240. Phoenix was elected as the 17th Student Association.

[Staff Development Committee] First Staff Development Day
Aiming at gathering views on the development of school and enhancing the cohesion of staff members, the first Staff Development Day took place at the hall with the participation of all staff members for three hours. Views were collected through discussions on various aspects, including learning and teaching strategies and students' performance evaluation.
All staff members provided valuable and critical opinions, which enables the school to have a clear direction to set goals for the coming years.

[Religious Education Section] Opening Mass
On the first day of school, CSK was blessed by the Opening Mass celebrated by Reverend Father Matthew Chan, SDB. In the Homily, Father Chan made use of the survival film All is Lost to share his view on courage. He also reminded students of the meaning of the chevrons embroidered on the school tie. Teachers and students received the Communion, reflecting on Christ's sacrifice and looking forward to his return. The Opening Mass came to the end with the blessing of Father Chan.

[Others] Welcome Back
The Morning Prayer and the hoisting of the national flag marked the start of a new school year. They were followed by the principal's speech, the introduction of new staff members and the exchange student from Italy. The morning assembly came to the end with the presentation of certificates to prefects. This year marks the 45th Anniversary of CSK and we wish everyone a successful year.

[Academic Enhancement Committee] Talk on Learning Skills
The Academic Enhancement Committee organized a talk on learning skills for the pre-F.1 students and their parents on 22nd August. A similar talk was organized for F.4 students on 1st September. The talks were hosted by Mr. Tommy Chan and Franki Ng from the EDIT Workshop.

[Extra-curricular Activities Section] Highlights of Chairman Training Course 2014 - 2015
Organised by ECA Committee, the Chairman Training Course 2014 - 2015 was successfully held on 28th and 29th of August. In this two-day course, all thirty-four chairmen of CSK's clubs and societies received training of various aspects given by Ms. Y. Y. Lam, Mr. K. K. Young and the social worker Mr. Andrew Ng. On Day One, Ms. Y. Y. Lam explained the administration duties in detail and presented all chairmen with a clear picture about what they would have to accomplish in the coming year. Mr. K. K. Young, as an old boy of CSK, shared his experience in extra-curricular activities during his school life in CSK and encouraged all chairmen to be role models for their members so that their interest and participation in club activities would be enhanced. In addition, some tips on effective promotion strategies were delivered. On Day Two, Mr. Andrew Ng equipped the students with essential communication skills and writing skills. Chairmen were guided step by step in order to reinforce these generic skills. All chairmen enjoyed this two-day training course and found it a fruitful experience, promising to do their best and provide CSK boys with quality activities.

[Others] Bridging Programme and Induction Day
To help Form Ones adapt to the new school environment, the school held a number of bridging courses and activities for them and their parents in late August. It is delighted to see many new faces on campus.
