[Extra-curricular Activities Section] ECA Club Award
There are 34 clubs in CSK and they organize various activities for students. Some of the clubs had excellent performance last year and they are listed in the following.

We would like to thank the 34 chairmen once again for their hard work in the previous academic year. At the same time, we hope the 34 new chairmen can do better in the coming year and provide our students with the best activities. We would also like to take this opportunity to announce that two students, Cheng Wai Nam from F.5E and Cheung Ho Ching from F.6D, were given awards by the Arts Ambassadors-in-School Scheme of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.

[Extra-curricular Activities Section] SA Handover Ceremony
The Handover Ceremony of the Student Association was successfully held on 24th September. Our principal, Mr. Lee, started the ceremony by giving an opening speech. Certificates were presented to the members of the provisional management. After that, the provisional management committee handed over the champ and the key to Phoenix. Then, the members of Phoenix took a vow to take up their duties. Finally, the President of Phoenix gave a speech to the students to introduce their mission in this school year. At the end of the Handover Ceremony, the teacher advisors and the committee members took photos together. The Student Association will try their best to serve the students and strive for the betterment of the school.

[Drama Club] Hong Kong Arts Festival Young Friends 2014 Performance
On 23rd September, 2014, Drama Club invited Hong Kong Arts Festival Young Friends 2014 to CSK to perform a play entitled “Perfect Girl”. Students from Form 2 to Form 4 were invited to the school hall to watch the performance. After the play, Hong Kong Arts Festival Organization introduced their programmes for the year 2014-2015 to our students. Students were impressed by the play and showed interest in the programmes introduced to them.

[Careers Guidance Committee] F.4 Day Camp
With a view to boosting students' self-efficacy and helping students set individual career goals, Careers Guidance Committee organized a day camp for F.4 students in collaboration with Hok Yau Club on 20th September, 2014. After a one-hour session held in the School Hall, students travelled to Lady MacLehose Holiday Village in which they had more activities including games, group discussions and sharing sessions. Through various activities, they have been equipped with teamwork skills, problem-solving skills as well as skills needed for self-reflection and setting their own career goals.

[Extra-curricular Activities Section] The 17th Student Association
This year, two student association cabinets, Phoenix and Paragon, ran in the election of the 17th Student Association. The election campaign was held from 4th September to 17th September. The cabinets presented their policies respectively in the morning assembly. The forum for junior forms was held on the 15th September while that for senior forms was cancelled due to inclement weather conditions. The two cabinets answered questions raised by the opponent and students. The election took place on 18th September. The total number of votes was 848, with 685 valid votes and 163 invalid votes. The number of votes given to Phoenix was 445. The number of votes given to Paragon was 240. Phoenix was elected as the 17th Student Association.

[Staff Development Committee] First Staff Development Day
Aiming at gathering views on the development of school and enhancing the cohesion of staff members, the first Staff Development Day took place at the hall with the participation of all staff members for three hours. Views were collected through discussions on various aspects, including learning and teaching strategies and students' performance evaluation.
All staff members provided valuable and critical opinions, which enables the school to have a clear direction to set goals for the coming years.

[Religious Education Section] Opening Mass
On the first day of school, CSK was blessed by the Opening Mass celebrated by Reverend Father Matthew Chan, SDB. In the Homily, Father Chan made use of the survival film All is Lost to share his view on courage. He also reminded students of the meaning of the chevrons embroidered on the school tie. Teachers and students received the Communion, reflecting on Christ's sacrifice and looking forward to his return. The Opening Mass came to the end with the blessing of Father Chan.

[Others] Welcome Back
The Morning Prayer and the hoisting of the national flag marked the start of a new school year. They were followed by the principal's speech, the introduction of new staff members and the exchange student from Italy. The morning assembly came to the end with the presentation of certificates to prefects. This year marks the 45th Anniversary of CSK and we wish everyone a successful year.
